Numina Privacy Policy
Numina is made by ByteXio. This policy describes what Numina does with information, and it is deliberately short because the app is designed to need very little of it.
The short version
- Numina has no accounts. There is nothing to sign up for.
- Numina has no servers of ours. The app never sends your play data, your answers, or anything about you to ByteXio.
- Numina contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs, and does not use Apple's advertising identifier or ask for tracking permission.
- Everything you do in Numina — your progress, streaks, ratings, session history, and Deep Sky conversations — is stored on your device.
What is stored on your device
Your player profile: constellation ratings, resonance, streaks, session history, daily play summaries, Deep Sky transcripts you choose to keep as Moments, and your settings. This lives in the app's private storage on your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch. Deleting the app deletes it.
Optional iCloud sync
If you turn on Settings → iCloud sync, your profile is stored in the iCloud key-value store attached to your own Apple ID, so it follows you between your iPhone and iPad. This goes to Apple's iCloud, under your account, protected by Apple's iCloud security. ByteXio has no access to it. It is off by default, and turning it off stops further sync.
Apple Watch
Play on Apple Watch is exchanged with the paired iPhone using Apple's WatchConnectivity, directly between your two devices. It does not pass through any server of ours.
Deep Sky and on-device intelligence
Deep Sky conversations run entirely on your device:
- Apple Intelligence, where available, runs on device using Apple's Foundation Models framework.
- Downloadable models (such as Llama 3.2 or Qwen) are, if you choose to download one, fetched from Hugging Face (huggingface.co). That download is a normal network request to Hugging Face and is subject to Hugging Face's privacy policy. Once downloaded, the model runs on your device and your conversations never leave it.
- The built-in Starlight guide needs no download and no network at all.
Puzzle content, answers, and scoring are always decided by Numina's own engine on your device — never by a model.
Game Center
If you turn on Game Center, Numina reports your lifetime resonance and best streak to Apple's Game Center leaderboards. This is handled by Apple under Apple's Game Center terms. It is off by default.
Notifications
Streak, Deep Signal, and comeback reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. No push service is involved and nothing is sent anywhere to deliver them.
Purchases
Numina Complete is an in-app purchase processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles payment; ByteXio never sees your payment details. Purchases are tied to your Apple ID and can be restored from Settings → Restore purchase.
Children
Numina does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at the same address and the effective date above will be updated.
